FAQ

The thermal performance of our products varies by product type, pack-out configuration, shipment duration and temperature requirements. While R-value is one measure of insulation performance, we focus on delivering validated thermal protection for temperature-sensitive shipments rather than relying solely on a single insulation metric.

Our thermal packaging solutions are designed to help maintain required temperatures for pharmaceuticals, biologics, food and other temperature-sensitive products throughout transit. Product-specific thermal performance data, qualification testing results and technical specifications are available upon request.

For recommendations on the right solution for your application, contact our team for guidance based on your shipping profile, duration requirements and temperature range.

Our fiber-based thermal packaging solutions are made primarily from recycled paper-based materials and are widely recyclable where paper recycling streams exist. Our flexible thermal box liners are manufactured using post-industrial cardboard feedstocks and engineered to provide effective temperature protection while supporting circularity goals.

After use, customers can typically place the paper-based components into paper recycling programs where local recycling infrastructure accepts them. Because recycling capabilities vary by location, we recommend checking local recycling guidelines for specific acceptance requirements.

We are committed to helping customers reduce packaging waste, increase recyclable content, and advance their sustainability objectives through more environmentally responsible cold chain packaging.

Our products are designed to support sustainability goals through the use of recycled-content paper materials, recyclability where paper recycling infrastructure exists and reduced reliance on difficult-to-recycle thermal packaging materials.

Our thermal packaging solutions are commonly used for pharmaceutical, life sciences, healthcare, food and other temperature-sensitive shipping applications.

Yes. The metalized paper used in Pregis thermal packaging is certified repulpable and recyclable and passes Western Michigan University (WMU) standards. WMU’s OCC-E testing evaluates the material through repulping, screening and cleaning and assesses the resulting fiber for performance and appearance.
