Testing Preparation
- When testing substrates or surfaces,
replicate your typical manufacturing - Please apply each sample to ALL your
substrates (performance will vary on
different paints, finishes, and gloss levels)- Pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) films
require uniform pressure for optimal
performance- Use the same amount of pressure as
your manufacturing process or apply
using your laminator through the
normal operations - Use rubber nip rollers with 40-60 psi
lamination pressure
- Use the same amount of pressure as
- Use a sharpie marker to mark each with
material name and application date - Record real-time notes below to gauge
how each sample felt when applying
and removing
- Pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) films
Observation Table Tips
- At each evaluation time, assess the
adhesion by peeling back a small amount
of material and recording its feel - Utilize the following feedback
characteristics in the Surface Notes:- Fell off
- Hard to remove
- Zippy/quick removal
- Slow/smooth removal
- For optional UV testing, leave film outside for
2-4 weeks and peel back film each week to
observe characteristics
