Guide to Choosing Bubble

Astro-Cell bubble is available in three standard grades:

Economy Astro-Bubble Air Cushioning: Used for lightweight, inexpensive items.

Commercial Astro-Cell Plus Air Cushioning: Made from co-extruded polyethylene/nylon. Used for intermediate shipping and storage cycles of light or medium weight, moderately valued products.

Military Grade or High End Astro-SupraBubble Air Cushioning: Made from heavier-duty co-extruded polyethylene/ nylon. Used for items that are heavier or have a long storage cycle

Choosing the Right Size Bubble

A rule of thumb is that the larger the item to be packaged, the larger the bubble.


Very Small and Small bubble (1/8" - 3/16") is best for wrapping small, lightweight items in a carton for light cushioning and surface protection.	Medium bubble (5/16") provides a combination of surface protection, shock absorption and void-fill.	Large bubble (1/2") is usually used as a void-fill item.
